Zoë Miller is a Scottish artist and Glasgow School of Art graduate whose art is inspired by her love for Glasgow’s architecture. Her work, tenetiles, began with a collection of finely carved linocut prints. These prints reinterpret traditional “close” tiles, using multi‑colour lino printing to highlight the distinctive patterns found in historic tenements.
Expanding from print to ceramics, she now designs original hand‑glazed tiles that evoke the style of Art Nouveau tenement tiles. Each piece is created using printmaking methods to achieve multi‑coloured, intricate motifs. Every tile is individually glazed and kiln‑fired in small batches in her Glasgow studio, resulting in subtle textures, gentle imperfections, and natural variations that make each one unique.
