Island Porcelain produces unique, hand-crafted porcelain figures on the Isle of Arran. Each figure is individually hand-made, to a high standard, by Tracy Gibson in her small studio. It is then carefully hand-painted and fired to an eye-watering 1200 degrees. Most figures have a matt, unglazed finish which is characteristic of Tracy’s products. This process means that no two pieces are ever the identical, making each piece truly unique.
Tracy’s work is inspired by the exceptional wildlife and breath-taking scenery on and around the beautiful island of Arran. British birds make up the majority of their designs, though there is a small range of porcelain animals such as dolphins, seals, red squirrels and their popular ‘ Corrie Sheep’. These can be seen standing on the quay-side at Corrie and Sannox harbour – whatever the weather!!
Tracy’s charming and highly collectable porcelain figures have, to date, found new homes as far away as Australia, New Zealand and Canada, proof indeed that Arran’s charm does truly extend worldwide.
