Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I use the service?
The Home Library Service is especially for people who find it difficult to get out and about because of disability, illness, shiedling or because they're caring for someone. It's also perfect for people who struggle to carry heavy library books. You can even use the service on a temporary basis eg if you've had an operation or accident.
You don't need to be a current library member; we'll take care of that for you.
Do I have to pay?
No, the service is completely free of charge.
What can I borrow?
You can borrow hardback and paperback books, large print books and audiobooks.
Who will deliver my books?
A trained member of staff will deliver your books. All library assistants are checked by Disclosure Scotland.
How does the service work?
Every three weeks a member of our team will deliver your bag of items. We'll do our best to bring you books that suit your taste. You can ask staff for specific books or even request them using our online catalogue.
