Scottish Swimming Teacher Qualification (SSTQ) – Development Opportunities

Would you like to make a difference to peoples’ lives by helping them learn to swim?

We are looking for candidates with ambition & passion to join our Swimming Development team in delivering The Scottish Swimming National Framework to a range of all ages and abilities in our Learn to Swim Programme.

This opportunity includes a place on the course, (Falkirk Council covers the cost) trained by one of Scottish Swimming’s highly experienced tutors and practice skills within our existing Learn To Swim Programme. On successful completion of the course, candidates will have the opportunity to gain paid employment as a swimming teacher with Falkirk Council.

To participate on this course, you must:

• Be at least 16 years of age at the commencement of the course

• Be a member of Scottish Swimming or become a member prior to the course

• Ideally be attached to a swim school or club where you can practice skills learnt on course, Falkirk Council can assist with this.

The course will be held at Grangemouth Sports Complex and Grangemouth High School, dates for the course are below and you must be able to commit to all dates which totals 32 hours:

22 October 8am-4pm, 23 October 8am-4pm, 24 October 5-9pm, 7 November 5-9pm, 21 November 5-9pm, 26 November 8am-4pm, 27 November 8am-4pm, 5 December 5-9pm, 17 December 8am-4pm, 18 December 8am-4pm.
