What is a Conservation Volunteer?

Muiravonside Country Park combines 170 acres of woodland and parkland with a demonstration farm, play parks, river walks and historic ruins.  Our new country park volunteer group will carry out a range of conservation tasks around the park including, but not limited to, maintaining paths and trails, planting trees, and creating wildlife habitats.

Skills, attitude, and experience required

This is a labour-intensive role so you must be reasonably fit and able to carry out physical work comfortably.  The role will involve walking between different areas of the country park and working in all weathers.

Volunteers must be able to follow instruction and adhere to the council’s health and safety policy.

No experience is necessary, but a can-do attitude is a must; training will be provided for all activities.

Time Commitment: Wednesdays 10am-2pm

Training: Training will be provided to all volunteers, including health & safety talks, tool handling, and any other relevant training for the task at hand.

Expenses: Unfortunately we are unable to provide expenses for this opportunity.
