The team behind the Hippodrome Silent Film Festival (HippFest), Scotland’s only silent film festival, launch their second season of silent films – A Taste of Silents this week with the BFI’s latest 5 star restoration Pandora's Box (1929) starring screen goddess Louise Brooks on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 June.
Callendar House Tearoom reaps another award
Hot on the heels of Callendar House winning the Scottish Hospitality Awards 2018 Tourist Attraction of the Year, the Tearoom at Callendar House has been announced as the Association of Cultural Enterprises' Cafe of the Month. The Association promotes excellence in cultural trading together with best practice and its members are all passionate about their work in the cultural and heritage sector.
Stenhousemuir Sports Centre Proposal
With general attendance levels at Stenhousemuir Sports Centre falling over recent years and the realisation that there is currently a great demand for a gymnastics facility in the Falkirk area, Falkirk Community Trust are currently consulting with Stenhousemuir Sports Centre customers on the potential to convert this facility into a specialist gymnastics facility.
