To participate in the Swimming Lesson Programme, new members will enter into a Direct Debit payment arrangement with Falkirk Council (the Council), which will be based on an annual charge which is divided equally into 12 monthly payments.
12 monthly Direct Debit (DD), instalments of £24.75 per month for your first child and £22.30 per month for any siblings will be due from the time of your first enrolment for 40-minute swim lessons.
Adult lessons will be charged at £24.75 per month from the time of your first enrolment for 40-minute swim lessons.
Pre-School children will be charged £19.10 and siblings at £17.40 for 30-minute swim lessons.
Concession rates of £17.75 for 40-minute swim lessons and £13.70 for 30-minute swim lessons will be given to participants who receive the Housing Element of Universal Credit (proof will be required to receive this discount).
A joining fee of £12.50 is payable when you join our swim programme. Should you choose to cancel your membership at any point, you will be charged the joining fee to re-join.
Direct Debit payments will be taken from your bank account on the 1st day of each month, or within three working days of the 1st day.
Participants in the swimming lesson DD Programme will also have the benefit of unlimited swimming in any Council operated swimming pool that offer public swims without any additional charge.
Any requests for amendments and/or cancellations of your DD arrangements can only be applied between the 3rd and 18th of any month. Requests after this date cannot be processed until the next update period (3rd to 18th of the following month).
Direct Debits will be adjusted to reflect any cancelled classes during term time.
No refunds will be provided for non-attendance on the part of the participant, unless they are unable to attend three or more consecutive lessons due to illness or injury and following the production of an appropriate medical certificate.
If any DD payment fails to be made, the participant’s swimming lessons will be cancelled.
The participant can withdraw from the swimming lesson programme at any time by emailing bookings@falkirk.gov.uk We must receive written cancellation requests by the 18th of the month to process cancellations for that month. Any cancellations after the 18th will be effective from the following month and we will advise that participants cancel their direct debit to prevent payment being taken on 1st of the following month.
All outstanding fees must be settled up to the date of the participant’s withdrawal. The Council will take appropriate action to recover any outstanding debts and no further Council related agreement will be possible until this debt is settled in full.
Any participant wishing to re-join the swimming lesson programme at a later date must ensure that any arrears have been paid in full. A new application will be required and will be dependent upon a lesson being available at the time of application. The joining fee of £12.50 will also be applied when re-joining.
The Council will provide written notice of any alteration to the prices of the swimming lesson programme.
All correspondence from the Council in relation to the swimming lesson programme will be sent via email or texts. Participants should ensure that the Council is provided with your most up to date contact details.
The charge for 40-minute lessons is £297.00 for the full year which will be deducted on a DD basis at the rate of £24.75 per month. The sibling charge is £267.60 which will be deducted on a DD basis at the rate of £22.30 per month. The concession charge is £213.00 and will be deducted on a DD basis at the rate of £17.75 per month.
The charge for 30-minute lessons is £229.20 for the full year which will be deducted on a DD basis at the rate of £19.10 per month. The sibling charge is £208.80 which will be deducted on a DD basis at the rate of £17.40 per month. The concession charge is £164.40 will be deducted on a DD basis at the rate of £13.70 per month.
