We hold an extensive collection of photographs and postcards relating to the local area, from the 1840s to the present day. Digital copies of about 5000 photographs can be seen in our Collections Browser.

We have a huge range of photographs giving a real flavour of life in Falkirk including places of work, streets, houses, people enjoying sports and leisure activities, children playing and at school and much more - really most aspects of life. 

The photographs were taken across the Falkirk area and further afield across Scotland including Linlithgow, Broxburn, Alloa, Dollar, Stirling, Fife and Perth to name but a few. You can see the original photographs in the collection, free of charge, by visiting the Archives.
