Respect Others
• Treat staff, instructors, volunteers and other customers with courtesy and respect.
• Follow instructions given by staff, particularly where health and safety is concerned.
• Respect people's privacy and personal space.
• Be considerate of other users and share facilities fairly.
Promote a Safe Environment
• Comply with all centre rules, signage and safety guidance.
• Report accidents, hazards, damage or unsafe behaviour to a member of staff.
• Use equipment and facilities only for their intended purpose.
• Only participate in activities that you feel fit and capable of undertaking.
• Support the centre's safeguarding arrangements and report any concerns regarding the welfare of a child or vulnerable person to a member of staff.
Respect the Facility
• Help keep the centre clean and tidy.
• Dispose of litter responsibly.
• Return equipment after use.
• Treat all facilities, equipment and property with care.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
We will not tolerate:
• Bullying, harassment or intimidation.
• Discrimination of any kind.
• Offensive, abusive or threatening language or behaviour.
Activity-Specific Expectations
Gym
• Wear appropriate exercise clothing and footwear.
• Wipe down equipment after use.
• Return weights and equipment to designated storage areas.
• Be mindful of others waiting to use equipment.
• Do not misuse equipment or undertake unsafe lifting practices.
Group Exercise Classes
• Arrive on time and follow instructor guidance.
• Respect the instructor and fellow participants.
• Advise the instructor of any relevant health conditions where appropriate.
• Do not disrupt classes or create excessive noise.
Swimming Pools
• Follow all pool safety rules and lifeguard instructions.
• Walk on poolside; do not run.
• Supervise children in accordance with centre admission policies.
• Shower before entering the pool where facilities are provided.
• Do not engage in dangerous behaviour that may place yourself or others at risk.
Soft Play
• Follow age and height restrictions.
• Children must be supervised in accordance with centre requirements.
• No climbing on external structures or safety netting.
• Remove shoes where required.
• Food, drink and glass items must not be taken into the play frame.
Sauna and Steam Facilities
• Use facilities responsibly and within recommended time limits.
• Shower before use where required.
• Maintain appropriate behaviour and respect the privacy of others.
• Do not bring food, alcohol, glass containers or electronic devices into sauna areas.
• Follow all health guidance and medical advice relating to sauna usage.
Unacceptable Behaviour
The following will not be tolerated:
• Aggressive, threatening or violent behaviour.
• Abusive, offensive or discriminatory language.
• Harassment of staff or other customers.
• Deliberate damage to facilities or equipment.
• Theft, vandalism or criminal activity.
• Smoking, vaping or use of illegal substances in prohibited areas.
• Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs where this impacts safety or enjoyment of others.
• Failure to follow reasonable instructions from staff.
Photography and Recording
• Respect the privacy of others when taking photographs or recording videos.
• Photography or filming may be restricted in certain areas such as changing rooms, toilets, soft play areas and swimming pool areas.
• Staff may ask customers to stop recording where privacy or safeguarding concerns arise.
Breaches of the Code
Where this Code of Conduct is breached, the centre may:
1. Provide a verbal warning.
2. Ask the individual to leave the facility.
3. Suspend or terminate bookings or memberships.
4. Refer serious incidents to Police Scotland or other relevant authorities where appropriate.
