For self-led workshops - you will recieve more detials on activity instructions, suggestions for pre- and/or post-workshop actvities and a copy of our hazard assessment upon booking. We recommend that teachers visit Callendar House prior to their class visit to scope out the activity locations and resources. Pre-workshop visits can be arranged upon request.
It is the responsibility of teachers and group leaders to complete a risk assessment before any visit. A hazard sheet will be sent at the time of booking for guidance purposes only.
Some workshops require the class to be split into groups to carry out activities due to room capacities. As a general guide we recommend 1 adult to 10 pupils on a class visit to Callendar House. Teachers should refer to Education Services 'Policy and procedures for excursions' as teacher pupil ratios are dependent on individual circumstances.
