‘My greatest desire is not to be the only woman on a committee, or a slate of speakers as so often happens just now.’
‘I hope my visibility demonstrates that women can be good scientists – particularly the physical sciences - and effective members of the scientific community.’

This year’s Falkirk Science Festival sees the Helix Visitor’s centre and the Kelpies as host of the RSE’s ‘Women in Science’ pop up exhibition in May, celebrating the achievements of women in science in Scotland. To mark this special occasion, our celebration event boasts a welcome drinks reception, with audiences able to view the exhibition, before an evening of informative and inspiring panel discussion plus exciting demonstrations right from the forefront of cutting-edge research, led by women in Scotland.

Join us as we step further into the RSE exhibition, meeting the esteemed scientists behind the portraits, chaired by Dr Senga Robertson-Albertyn, Postdoctoral Research Assistant and recipient of the prestigious RSE Innovators Prize for Public Engagement.

Age Restriction: 16+

Featuring panellists:

Dr Silvia Paracchini, “Reader, School of Medicine, University of St Andrews”.

Professor Niamh Nic Daeid, Director, Leverhulme Research Centre For Forensic Science, University of Dundee

Professor Raffaella Ocone, Professor of Chemical Engineering, School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, Heriot-Watt University

Dr Deborah O'Neil, Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, Chief Executive Officer, NovaBiotics
