Mark Jenkin’s political folk tale of two fishermen locked in a time loop with its score performed live by Mark Jenkin and Dion Star aka The Cornish Sound Unit.

A missing fishing trawler mysteriously returns to a Cornish harbour. Two young men join its new crew and head out to sea, unaware of how deeply the voyage will connect them to the vessel’s past.

The Hippodrome is proud to host the only Scottish performance of the UK tour – your chance to experience Jenkin’s haunting Cornish folktale with its sound taking shape live in the beautiful and atmospheric Hippodrome auditorium. Using reel to reel tape machines, analogue synthesisers, guitars, feedback and field recordings, The Cornish Sound Unit will perform composed and improvised music alongside the film. The screening and performance will be followed by an in-person Q&A with the BAFTA-winning director/writer/editor/producer Mark Jenkin and artist/writer/musician Dion Star.
