At Falkirk, we run our training courses in two different formats.  The traditional six days, back to back or a split weekend.  Both courses have six days contact time.

Full week: 5 - 10 June 2023, 1 - 6 October 2023.  Days 1 - 4 8.30am - 7.30pm; Days 5 & 6 Expedition 9am - overnight - 5.30pm.

Split course: Course 1 - First weekend 5 - 7 May/Second weekend 12 - 14 May.  Course 2 - First weekend 25 - 27 August/Second weekend 1 - 3 September.  Course 3 - First weekend 3 - 5 November/Second weekend 10 - 12 November.

First weekend - Days 1 - 3 8.30am - 7.30pm; second weekend - Day 4 8.30am - 7.30pm; Days 5 & 6 Expedition 9am - overnight - 5.30pm.

The Mountain Leader scheme is designed for people who want to lead groups in the mountains, hills and moorlands of the UK and Ireland.  If you love being out in the mountains and want to share your enthusiasm with others, become a Mountain Leader and you'll never look back. Mountain Leaders operate the length and breadth of the country with all sorts of groups of people; from scouts and schoolchildren to outdoor instructors and OAPs.  The qualification is what you make it and there are countless opportunities for passionate Mountain Leaders.  Please check on the Mountain Training website that you have all the prerequisites.
