Step into the magic of the season with a 40-minute interactive Christmas performance at Callendar House!

Join a cast of festive characters on an enchanting adventure to save Christmas, where children (and grown-ups too!) become part of the story.

Along the way, you’ll take part in fun activities, solve challenges, and help our characters on their journey. The adventure ends with a special visit to Santa, where every child will receive a thoughtful gift to take home.

Unlike a traditional Santas Grotto, The Christmas Adventure is a 40 minute performance with professional actors and set. The ticket is a show ticket and is aimed to be a magical experience for all ages.

Yes this year there will be a small gift from Santa for Children.

There are 3 car parks in Callendar Park, we would recommend you try the two closest to the house first as its less of a walk with little kids. Follow signs from the main road for Callendar House and drive past the high flats to get into the park. There are disabled parking spaces available, just follow the signs to drive past the front door of Callendar House and you will see the gravel area beside the wall which is handy for the level access entrance. Please note there is no parking directly in front of the house due to emergency vehicle access requirements and please take care if driving over to the disabled parking area as it will be busy with pedestrians.

 

There is a level access door to the left of the main front door which opens to a lift to allow access to all areas of the house other than the Christmas tree and the shop. We will be on hand to assist with ramp access to these areas when required. 

For the adventure there is ramp access to allow anyone in a wheelchair to have the same experience as the rest of the group, apart from one slight route change that the staff will coordinate with you.

 

Please go to the gift shop to check in for your adventure time slot no later than 10 minutes before your start time.

We don’t need your tickets printed- just confirmation on your phone will be fine or we can find your booking when you arrive using your booking details.

We encourage you to make yourself at home and remove bulky jackets etc before going into the adventure if preferred. If you go down to the right of the big Christmas tree to the public toilets you will find a long corridor with pegs which you are welcome to use. Please note this area is open to the public so leaving any valuable items here is discouraged and at your own risk.

We ask that unless essential you leave prams etc under the stairs at reception before going into your Christmas Adventure slot. Please let a member of staff at reception know if you think you need to take the pram with you on the day.

We understand that waiting can be difficult for some, so we will have a room on the 1st floor just off the Roman Gallery with colouring in and some sofas away from the hustle and bustle if anyone needs a bit of space before their time slot.

There will be 16 people in total on these slots which is a reduced capacity, and the performers will go with the flow of the group while still trying to give the full experience.
