8 and under:
James Hodge, age 6, invented Help-O-Bot, who can answer any question, fly and fix anything
Fraser Wallace, age 7, designed a robot that delivers fruit and makes more fruit in it's tummy
Marley Edosomwan, age 8 created a machine that turns rubbish into rainbows
Ages 9+
Aysha Pollock, age 12 designed a cool and clever wheelchair
Brooke Ellis-Wright, age 10 created Story Bot, who can read you the story of your choice
The winners received art materials in a special library bag.
Ever had an idea that would let you do amazing things? Make your life easier? Change the world?
Now’s your chance to tell everyone about it! Enter our summer competition and share your drawings, plans or story about an amazing invention.
Our ‘Be an Inventor’ competition is inspired by the Gadgeteers Summer Reading Challenge, which is all about friendship, ideas and innovation.
How to enter
1. Pick up an entry form from your local library OR
Download our competition form (you don't need to print it in colour) OR
Use two sides of an A4 sheet (if you do this, remember to include your name, age, parent contact details and school)
2. Get creative!
3. Hand in your completed entry to your local library by Saturday 13th August or email it to libraryevents@falkirk.gov.uk.

Who can enter?
Anyone across the Falkirk Council area who is under 16.
What’s the prize?
You’ll score yourself some art equipment and book tokens.
Terms and conditions
Anyone in the Falkirk area who is under the age of 16 can enter.
You can enter as many times as you like, but only one prize can be won per person.
Your entry can include pictures and/or words. It should be all your own work and should not copy or use work produced by anyone else.
Winners and runners up will be chosen across different age groups.
Closing date is Saturday August 13th at 3pm, if you are handing in an entry at your local library. If you are sharing your entry by email or social media, you have until midnight on Saturday August 13th.
Prizes will include art materials and book tokens.
Entries will be shared on Falkirk Leisure and Culture's website and social media channels.
