Coastal Roots an exhibition by Peter J Scott & Bryan Angus

This exhibition is a visual celebration of Scotland’s Proud coastal heritage, its beauty and it’s decline and ever-changing face over the years. It’s an exploration of its impact on Scotland’s community through economic migration.

Our coastline represents so much to all who live in Scotland, many of us in the central belt will have roots back to the coast but due to economic circumstances families have migrated elsewhere over time and others have remained.

The exhibition takes two perspectives on the same coastline, one from a local perspective and one from a second generation removed.

The exhibition is a celebration of our cultural and agricultural heritage from sea and land and to share with the audience a reflection on a coastline that will be familiar to many, whether through heritage, history or holiday
