Safety in Icy Conditions
Hospitals across Scotland are experiencing an increase in the number of patients requiring x-rays and treatment following slips and falls. Days of freezing weather have led to a rise in admissions of patients with ice-related injuries. With hospitals already busy with patients with COVID related symptoms, the NHS is facing further challenges dealing with injuries related to snow and ice.
We would ask everyone using our parks and open spaces for exercise to be extra careful as snow and icy weather continues to affect the Falkirk area. We would also remind everyone to stick to the Scottish Government guidance regarding exercising locally and only a maximum of 2 people, aged 12+, can meet for a permitted purpose if not from the same household.
