22 December 2021
Customer Statement 22.12.21
Following the announcement from the First Minister on Tuesday 21 December advising of increased safety measures that will be implemented from 26 December onwards, we are making changes to our range of services until further notice from this date. In line with the Scottish Government’s advice on reducing social contact and maintaining the safety of our customers and staff, these service changes align us with the national effort to slow and eliminate the transmission of the now dominant Omicron variant.
We will re-introduce social distancing measures and one-way systems where appropriate in indoor venues. Enhanced cleaning and hygiene measures will remain in place, as will our adherence to Test and Protect. We will also continue to support the mandatory wearing of face coverings indoors (unless exempt, eating, or drinking), and have multiple hand sanitising stations are available at all sites.
Following government recommendations, we ask our staff and customers to take lateral flow tests before mixing outside of their households and in support of the Scottish Government advice, we are encouraging employees to ensure that they are double vaccinated and giving adequate time off to arrange booster jabs.
Please see below for specific detail for changes in venues:
Sport & Leisure
Our Sports Centres and soft play facilities remain open with building capacities reduced to comply with social distancing guidance.
No indoor adult contact sport will be permitted from Boxing Day onwards, and saunas and steam rooms will also close from this date.
Culture & Libraries

Bo’ness and Grangemouth Town Halls will close over designated dates throughout the festive period and will re-open for lets and activities that are permissible under the new guidance provided. Any cancelled or changed dates for hires outwith these guidelines will be discussed directly with the appropriate customers.
Cafes & Parks
Our café facilities at The Helix Park and Callendar House remain open and will follow the new guidance. Car parks and toilets in our parks also remain open (disabled toilet only in use at Callendar Park), and we would like to encourage the community to continue using our outdoor spaces to benefit their health and wellbeing. Please refer to our festive opening times for these facilities.
Our proposed service operations are subject to change, and we will be adhering to guidelines set out by the Scottish Government at all times.
Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates regarding our services over the coming weeks.
We hope our customers and staff enjoy the festive break and stay safe. We would also like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding in these uncertain times.
