The Mariner Centre Reaches for the Stars!
Exceptional staff hospitality and improved facilities are two highlights that helped to improve the star rating of the Mariner Centre at the recent Visit Scotland inspection resulting in a four star rating.
Following the comprehensive review of the centre, facilities and staff, the Mariner Centre has been presented with an impressive four star rating. The national tourism organisation’s award is in recognition of the enhancements made within the centre along with service provided by staff with the venue receiving an overall ‘excellent’ score of 80%.
The Visit Scotland Inspector said: “I am delighted to confirm the Falkirk Community Trust – Mariner Centre has achieved a 4 star award with an overall 80% score. The new facilities, including the ‘Shapemaster Hub’, Fitness Studios, the 65 station gym and the impressive ‘Immersive Cycling Studio’ together with the upgraded changing facilities and café have helped secure this award”.
Stephanie Zilliken, Health & Fitness Instructor was described as doing a ‘stellar job’ on the day of inspection and was scored a fantastic 10/10 in the service provided.
Carol Whyte (Team Leader Sports & Leisure), confirmed she was delighted with the award obtained and advised it was a reflection of the hard work put in by employees, and also in recognition of the facilities and service provided at the Mariner Centre. Carol added that the centre has benefitted from significant investment in recent years with refurbishment of the swimming pool wave machine, interactive play features in the swimming pool, the Great Mariner Reef Soft Play and most recently the Health & Fitness facilities that launched the First Fully Immersive Cycling Studio in Scotland.
Falkirk Community Trust is committed to delivering the high standards recognised in this award and takes on board the feedback provided by Visit Scotland to strive to improve and exceed customer expectations.
