Outlander has become a travel inspiration for people looking to explore the history and beauty of Scotland, and Falkirk is home to not one, but two locations featured in the beloved Outlander saga. Muiravonside Country Park and Callendar House were both filming locations in season two of the popular series.
Muiravonside Country Park is located between Linlithgow and Falkirk and was the backdrop to the dramatic Battle of Prestonpans. Follow the River Avon Heritage Trail to lose yourself in acres of woodland and find industrial archelogy relics. You can also set sights on and explore the river gorge during your walk through the park.
Callendar House is an architectural gem that is set in the historic grounds of Callendar Park in Falkirk. Brimming with history, it provided the perfect setting for the Georgian working kitchen for Bellhurst Manor, the home of the Duke of Sandringham. Tours of the grand house are available to really bring to life your Outlander experience.
