You’re never too young to join the library! Start your wee one off on a lifelong love of reading with their very own library card.
Join at your birth appointment
The Registrar will give you the chance to join your child as a library member when you attend your birth appointment.
When you do this, you’ll take home a My 1st Library card and a leaflet telling your more about the library. You can then head to the library and start using our services.
Join at the library
Visit the library to register your child for membership. You’ll fill in a short form and show some ID that features your name and address (e.g., Driving license, bill). Everyone under 16 needs their parent to act as a guarantor.
Parents should join too!
If you’re not a member, why not join too? You’ll have access to PCs, wi-fi, books and DVDs. You can also use our Libby app, for eBooks, eAudiobooks and PressReader for popular magazines and daily newspapers. Find out more about our apps.
