Welcome to Step Forth our free, friendly, volunteer-led walking programme designed to help you become more active and enjoy the benefits of walking.
Our walks take place all across the Falkirk area, including Bo’ness, Camelon, the Braes and Carronshore, and are suitable for all ages and abilities. We even have local buggy walks for new Mums and their little ones.
We offer a variety of walks to suit different needs:
Health Walks
Our health walks are short, relaxed and sociable routes around Falkirk, designed to help you build activity into your week in a gentle and accessible way. These walks last under an hour and move at a pace that suits the group, making them ideal for improving physical health, boosting mental wellbeing, and enjoying fresh air in a supportive community setting.
Helix walks offer a chance to explore the stunning green spaces and waterside paths around The Helix and The Kelpies. These guided walks are perfect for reducing stress, improving mood, and enjoying the benefits of being active outdoors in one of Falkirk’s most iconic wellbeing destinations.
Nordic walking provides a low‑impact, full‑body workout using specially designed poles, perfect for improving posture, increasing strength, and supporting joint health. It’s a great way to enjoy Falkirk’s parks and paths while enhancing your fitness and mental wellbeing through mindful outdoor movement. Please contact us by email for more information.
Our buggy walks give parents and carers a friendly, welcoming way to get active with their little ones. These easy walks around Falkirk’s paths and parks offer gentle exercise, fresh air, and a chance to meet others, supporting both physical wellbeing and positive mental health in the early years.
All of our walks are free to attend and there is no need to book, you can simply come along on the day.
If you are new to our walks, you are welcome to get in touch before your first walk. We can help with any questions you might have and keep you updated in case there are any changes.
Our walks are welcoming, supportive, and led by trained volunteers who will help you feel comfortable and included. We also welcome new volunteers and provide full training and support if you would like to get involved.
