We can’t get to all the areas we’d like to in a single day. These trips take care of that. 

Northwest Highlands High Tops Trip

This season our North-west trip will be based in Inverness. This will allow us access to great budget accommodation, manageable driving distances, and options on different areas. Below is our ideal walking itinerary for this trip. 

Day 1 – Depart Falkirk in time to stop off in the Cairngorms to do an afternoon of winter skills to refresh our hill craft. Then on to Inverness SYHA vto get settled in.

Day 2 – An Teallach Munros 14.5km with 1350 metres of ascent. This is the walkers route to reach the Munros. With good paths all the way. Great views over to the impressiveToll an Lochain from the top.

Day 3 – Beinn Dearg & Cona Mheall 17km with 1200metres of ascent. Approached from the south giving a fine exploratory circuit over remote terrain far from the crowds.

Day 4 – Ben Wyvis 14km with 900 metres of ascent. Shorter day on good paths all the way.

The instructor team will be staying in Inverness youth hostel. Participants need to arrange their own accommodation in Inverness. Transport and any equipment needed are included in the course fee. Participants with alternative travel / accommodation arrangements will need to meet the instructors at Inverness SYHA each morning of the winter walking days

Previous winter walking experience or completion of a recent winter skills course is an essential prerequisite for this trip
