High Tops Fisherfield Corbett Trip

Here is a chance to get in to the beating heart of Fisherfield and tick three of its most remote Corbetts – Beinn Dearg Bheag, Beinn Dearg Mor & Beinn a’ Chaisgein Mor. It’ll be a bit on the wild side with a fair bit of pathless stravaiging so we will park the tents for the two nights in the same spot, leaving us with light bags for the Corbett push.

Day 1

Drive up from Falkirk to Gruinard and walk to our wild campsite in Strath Beinn Dearg. This will provide a good launching point for the following day’s hill circuit. Track walking for the first half gives way to harder going following the burn into the strath. 13.6km with 340 metres of ascent.

Day 2

A big hill day ticking the Beinn Deargs – Bheag first then Mor, dropping to the stalkers path which takes us west towards Chaisgein Mor. A hill path leads to its summit followed by a descent Northeast, visiting remote Lochan na Bearta and eventually the welcome tents. 16km with 1500 metres of ascent.

Day 3

Pack up and head home the way we walked in. Arriving back in Falkirk in the early evening.

A lightweight self-sufficient approach to this trip is necessary, as is a good level of stamina. A full kit list will be sent out to participants before the trip. We can help with some items of camping kit.
