On a High Tops day you will tick either a Munro or one of our finer Corbetts, so you will need to have previous walking experience

From the biggest Munro days to the most out of the way Corbetts we can take you there. Our days out on the mountains are justly famous for getting to the summits by interesting means whatever the weather. On the harder to reach hills we can take bikes if appropriate. We’re happy to take novices out but if you’re unsure how you’ll do on the day please call our office before booking and chat to an instructor.

Carn a’ Chlamain & Beinn Mheadhonach – Bike Access

14.5km with 210 metres of ascent BIKE, 16.9km with 1070 metres of ascent WALK

This would be a big day out if attempted on foot all the way from Old Blair. We will make use of our bikes to get up to Gaw’s Bridge on the Tilt on a good estate track, significantly reducing the time to get here. The Corbett, Beinn Mheadhonach will be tackled first by walking down the river to the abandoned township of Ach Mhairc Mhoir. Decent paths lead on to the hill’s south ridge and summit. We’ll have to cross the Allt Mhairc to get to the high moor which has Carn a’ Chlamain, our Munro, peering up at the eastern end. From the summit we will descend the track down Faire Clach-ghlais to Glen Tilt and our bikes.
