Our Authors

Kate Foster worked as a national newspaper journalist for more than twenty years before becoming an author. Growing up in Edinburgh, she became fascinated by its history and often uses it as inspiration for her stories. Her previous novels include the The King’s Witches and the remarkable The Maiden, which won the Bloody Scotland Crime Debut of the Year and was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction. The Mourning Necklace is her third novel. She lives in Edinburgh with her two children.

David Goodman is an award-winning novelist and short fiction author. David writes thrillers and science fiction and his ingenious, award-winning novel A Reluctant Spy is shortlisted for the Bloody Scotland debut prize.

Marion Todd, before becoming an author, worked as a lecturer, candle-maker and hotel lounge pianist - a job which provided rich material for her novels! Her thrilling DI Clare Mackay series has sold over half a million copies.
