Welcome to a specially curated season of four films presented by Josh Toussaint-Strauss. The season is supported by funds from the BFI FAN Film Exhibition Fund. The third film of the season is the 70s kung fu cult classic, Enter The Dragon.

Enter the Dragon is the film that probably best exemplifies the fusion of ‘Blaxploitation Cinema’ and ‘Kung Fu’ films. It demonstrates the commercial success and cultural prevalence of ‘Kung Fu’ films with black audiences in the early 70s.
I have a personal connection to the film as well. I was a big fan of Jim Kelly and Bruce Lee in my younger years, and have seen this film countless times. So It’s a perfect example for me of the affection black people hold for kung fu films, particularly from this era.
