Evie Milo
Evie Milo is a jeweller who transforms fragments of history into contemporary,
wearable heirlooms. Working under the name Milomade, she is best known for her
distinctive practice of repurposing antique silver - particularly silver teaspoons - into
one-of-a-kind pieces of jewellery that carry stories of the past into the present.
Over the years she has become affectionately known as The Spoon Lady, a title
that reflects her long-standing devotion to working with utilitarian materials.
For more than a decade, Evie has sourced these treasures from auctions, markets,
and collections uncovering silverware with fascinating details and imagined
histories. Each spoon, fork, thimble or scrap of silver is chosen not for perfection,
but for the hallmarks, patterns, designs and traces of former lives engraved on their
surface. With great care, she reworks these objects by hand in her studio, giving
them new form and meaning. The result is jewellery that is not only beautiful, but
also rich in provenance and character.
