Welcome to the woolly wonderland of Donna Wilson: where pattern and colour collide and the imagination is free to run wild..
ABOUT DONNA WILSON
Donna has been designing colourful knitted products in her East London studio since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2003. Here, her team of creative women design, knit, sew, pack and ship her products to devoted design enthusiasts, collectors and the young at heart, all over the world.
WHIMSICAL PLAYFULNESS
Donna grew up surrounded by animals and the natural world on a farm in rural Aberdeenshire in the north of Scotland. This gave her a life-long love of nature and a passion for craft, making and creativity that she pours into her designs, along with her playful sense of humour and distinctive use of colour and pattern.
TIMELESS QUALITY OBJECTS
As a pioneer of the blooming contemporary craft movement, Donna remains true to her principle of designing timeless, high-quality objects to brighten your wardrobe and your home, across textiles, ceramics, furniture, towels and knitwear.
SUSTAINABILITY
Donna has run her business sustainably since its inception in 2003, and the studio is fully committed to lowering the environmental impact of each item it produces. Where possible we use sustainable materials, traditional techniques, British manufacturers, and minimal packaging. Our main material, lambswool, is completely biodegradable and we continually experiment with new techniques to minimise waste in the production process. Scraps and off-cuts are repurposed for our craft kits, and bespoke creatures.
KNIT SHOP
In 2020, Donna opened Knit Shop in Dundee, Scotland – a micro factory for knitting, design and finishing. She still remembers the closure of the local knit factory and the impact it had on the community. Setting up Knit Shop is Donna’s contribution to keeping the tradition of knitwear and textile production in Scotland alive, so these precious skills are not lost forever
