New Gymnastics Facilities Set to Open This Autumn
We are investing over £110,000 in the future of gymnastics within the Falkirk area as we relocate our gymnastics programme from the Carron Gymnastics Centre to two enhanced venues: the Mariner Centre, Camelon and Larbert High School.
This move represents a new opportunity to provide the area’s 964 gymnasts with improved, modern, and sustainable facilities, ensuring the long-term success and growth of this hugely popular sport. It also means we can welcome another 150 gymnasts to the programme, offer an additional 20 hours per week and create dedicated classes for children with Additional Support Needs (ASN).
At the Mariner Centre, the squash courts will close on Sunday 14 September before construction begins to transform the space into a purpose-built gymnastics hall. Work will run through late September, followed by the installation of brand-new equipment in October. The new facility is expected to open in late October 2025.
During the two-week construction phase, every effort will be made to keep disruption for customers to a minimum. Some noise and dust are expected, and the customer lift may be unavailable at certain times, but access for who need help will be prioritised wherever possible. Any customers requiring use of the lift should advise our reception team on arrival.
Further details, including relocation plans for specific classes, will be shared with customers in due course.
