Falkirk Council Events Team wins national award
Falkirk Council’s Events Team was named ‘Best Events Team: Council’ at the 2025 National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA) Awards, held last night (Wednesday 26 November) in Bath.
The award acknowledges the team’s consistent delivery of high-quality events that draw people into local parks, town centres and visitor attractions across the Council area.
Event highlights
Over the past year, the team has delivered a varied programme. Highlights include the Falkirk Science Festival; Christmas at The Helix; and the Fireworks Spectacular, which attracts more than 25,000 people.
Smaller events such as outdoor theatre at The Kelpies ensures the programme appeals to as wide a range of audiences as possible, including those who may not want to attend large-scale events.
The team also works with local charities and community groups on events including The Awakening, Scotland’s only disability-focused festival; Purple Poppy Armed Forces Day; and the first Kelpies Half Marathon.
The team manages key venues such as Callendar Park and The Helix, enabling external organisers to host events including Falkirk Fest, Adventure Cinema, and Kelpies Live. These activities bring visitors into the area and support local businesses.
Cllr Cecil Meiklejohn, Leader of Falkirk Council said: “This award reflects the hard work of our Events Team. Their work benefits local people, brings visitors into the area and supports our economy.”
