Bookbug Week is nearly here!
Bookbug Week is nearly here! This year we’ll be having a Big Shoogle with Bookbug – that means you can expect sessions with songs and rhymes to get you moving!
Bookbug Week runs from 15-21 May. t’s a chance for us to celebrate all the fun we have sharing songs, stories, and rhymes, but it’s also good time to remember that while we’re singing and dancing, we’re also learning!
Here’s some of the fun you can expect in Bookbug Week.
Bookbug Sessions
Our regular weekly Bookbug sessions. These are always popular, so advance registration is best. You can book a free place on Eventbrite.
Bonnybridge Library’s regular session has moved to a Wednesday for one week only. On 17 May They’ll have some special guests: the children of Antonine Nursery, and Malcolm and his guitar. Join us for a sing-along!
Buggy Walk
Join a Rhyme and Roll buggy walk. On Tuesday 16 Slamannan Library are heading to Blinkbonnie Park. Book a place by calling the library on 01324 851373 or by emailing slamannanlibrary@falkirk.gov.uk.
On Thursday 18 , Denny Library are off to Herbertshire Castle Park. Book for this on Eventbrite.
Win a goody bag in our Treasure Hunt!
Pick up an entry form from the library counter and find the six children shoogling to some of our favourite Bookbug rhymes around the library. Find them all and hand in your form to be entered into your library's draw to win a bag of Bookbug goodies. In the bag is a mini Bookbug doll, a sheet of stickers, a finger puppet and some lovely picture books.
The Science of the Senses: The Developing Brain
You can find out more about how children’s brains develop at this special event for Falkirk Science Festival on Tuesday 16.

Bookbug’s Big Shoogle illustrator, Emma Melchor, will be taking us on a drawing tutorial, Sprog Rock reveal their new specially-written Bookbug song and you’ll be able to join the fabulous Paul Kane on Facebook for a live session on Friday morning.
