We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and organised group of 16-18 year olds from the Falkirk Council area to programme, produce and run a day of music in Falkirk High Street for ‘Make Music Day 2026’.
Make Music Day, also known as La Fête de la Musique, celebrates music in all its forms and the importance of music in people's lives. More than 120 countries celebrate World Music Day. with a variety of free public concerts and events being held across over 700 cities, in the streets, parks, museums and other public spaces.
We want to celebrate the positive power of music by encouraging people to gather, play their instruments, dance and sing together providing free music for everyone to enjoy, whilst also promoting peace and goodwill.
We will be selecting a group of individuals who love music, have great ideas, are responsible and reliable to lead this exciting event. Roles and activities will include:
- Curating a programme of amateur and professional musicians
- Managing Budgets
- Marketing and Promotion
- Liaising with external organisations
- Event Management
As part of their involvement, they will be mentored by individuals from the industry to widen their skillsets and ensure they are fully supported in their roles. The experience will provide a unique insight into event management and planning an provide opportunities for creativity and confidence to flourish.
This project will be managed by Arts Development Officer (Performing Arts) Hazel Beattie. Hazel has over 25 years of experience in the Arts including programming, event and venue management, running large scale projects for the community and working with National Arts organisations.
